Master plan of La Tossa de Montbui’s heritage collection

In the last local bulletin of Santa Margarida de Montbui (nº114 – February, 2011) the Master plan of La Tossa de Montbui’s heritage collection, which was written during 2010, was presented. We congratulate the Consorci of La Tossa for their interest in designing strategies to foster such an important tourist resource in the Basin of Òdena.

The Plan was written by the firm Stoa patrimoni, turisme i museografia LC, conduced by Jordi Padró in collaboration with the collaboration of architect Josep M. Esquius, who designed Món Sant Benet.

Stoa suggests to organize the tourist use of La Tossa and to bet both for nature and cultural tourism.

The Master plan considers various actions for the next years:

In the refuge, a restaurant and a customer service office –which won't be simply a tourism office– are planed. It is expected to be a place where the visitors can find La Tossa's heritage conceptual synthesis through various interactive servers. A didactic workshop is designed, as well, where visitor scholars coming from other areas, will be received and encouraged to work on different topics –Frontier castles, geology, palaeontology…

In the Castle’s tower, the paving will be replaced, the architectural barriers will be removed and the museographic elements will be incorporated. Thus, La Tossa will become one of the referent points of the frontier castles in the region of Anoia. We can’t forget that Generalitat wants to foster the
National Route
of the Frontier Castles and that, in this way, La Tossa will make a remarkable entry into it.

The important paleontologic and geologic site of La Tossa will be increased in value. The way to achieve it will be to prepare a learning point in situ, where the geologic stratigraphic series will be contemplated, which is very appreciated by the experts.

At the top of La Tossa, a leissure itinerary will be made which will include the tourist offer from this emblematic and symbolic place from the Basin of Òdena.
Congratulations to the Consorci of La Tossa for giving us this good piece of news to the tourism sector of our region. We hope that it comes true in a short period of time.
