Last Friday, 1st April, Alfons Recio –an expert on geography and an environmental technician from the Santa Margarida de Montbui city council– gave us a master class.Alfons gave us some rudiments of the GPS system (global positioning system), of the
UTM coordinates (Universal Transverse Mercator), of the waypoints and the tracks.
The use of all these concepts makes our work easier when planning itineraries and routes for our area. When planning itineraries and marking them by tracks (route) and waypoints (interest points) through the GPS, it is simple to upload to a website. After that, the tourists or the visitors can download it into their appliances and enjoy the different routes.
